church news

God is alive and well.

The ever-present awareness and cloud of the virus in no way extinguishes God’s power, love and faithfulness.
The following testimony has been provided by John Lansdowne with the request that it be shared with the whole congregation.

To the CCD congregation:
In February last year, there was a tumour the size of a man’s fist in the top of my right lung. The past eighteen months of my life have been pervaded by the cloud of lung cancer. I sought prayer for healing and God heard and acted. He appointed skilled, kind and caring physicians, He provided these physicians with access to effective treatments, He gave me the support of my ever loving wife, and He gave me hope.
Scans conducted on 31st July 2020 show that there is no cancer. I’m healed; my entire body is cancer free.
I wish to take this opportunity to proclaim what God has done.
I wish to thank you, the CCD folk for your support and for your faithful prayers. The prayer blanket created by Janet and added to by many, comforts me during the night. Thank you
John Lansdowne

The words of Isaiah (60:1-3) in this context are apt ‘Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.’ Now is not a time for shrinking back or hiding away (though rightly observing physical distance and isolation as required). It is a time for confidently affirming and declaring God’s goodness amid any and every situation that life throws our way. Praise the Lord, O my soul. Forget not all his benefits! Ps 103
