We do require that couples undergo marriage preparation with us and that the service is according to the rites of the Anglican Church of Australia (as is required by the Anglican Church of Australia and which is a legal requirement of its ministers).

Divorced persons are welcome to seek marriage in the Anglican Church with the requirement that suitable marriage preparation be undertaken and that the Vicar receive written approval from the Bishop.

Where either one of the couple is not baptized, there is an opportunity to inquire about what is involved in taking this step. (see Baptism).

Where people from another non-Anglican church would like the involvement of their own minister in their wedding, such as participation through preaching or the prayers can be arranged. This requires that a written request first be made by the couple of the officiating clergy who will then contact the couple’s minister.

Christ Church Dingley is not available ‘for hire, or for use for weddings other than those conducted according to the rites of the Anglican Church of Australia with Anglican clergy presiding.

The government requires a minimum of one month’s written notice for a wedding to proceed. This is done by completing a Notice of Intention of Marriage (NOIM) which we provide to the couple when we first meet.

It is best to ring the church office well in advance to discover if your preferred date is available. This is also to allow sufficient time for the preparation as well as meetings with the minister to make all the arrangements.

A deposit of $250 secures your booking.
