Beginning a new era with Revelation ch. 1-3

This coming Sunday we hope you will join us as Andrew and Mairead as they lead us in worship and we begin a new sermon series in the book of Revelation. Tanya will bring the introduction and certain insights this week. Our new Locum Alex Kornacewski will join us the following week (July 11th) and bring us a message about the letter Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus from the Island of Patmos.

We have anticipated that you will be joining us this week so have arranged both our 8:30 service and 10:30 service to be held in the auditorium, thus allowing 51 people in the auditorium and overflow in the foyer and atrium. The first 51 to register will be seated in the auditorium and subsequent registrations in the overflow areas. Please register here at your earliest convenience:  https://rsvp.church/r/ioSSps3J

Government and Diocesan guidelines require us ALL to wear a mask indoors at Church (unless you have a valid medical exemption), and sign in via the QR code on arrival. We will have a QR helper to assist you if required. We truly thank you for your ongoing patience and co-operation in these matters of compliance.

This Sunday, the MMA stall will be operating and donations of baked goods are welcome.

Also, lunch will be provided for us by our awesome hospitality team. If you would like to assist in this area and make a soup for lunch this coming Sunday or on the first Sunday in August, that would be truly appreciated. Please contact Lucy Lettini regarding this on 0402128773. Thank you in advance.

If you can’t attend Church this Sunday, don’t worry, you won’t miss out all together. We plan to record and upload the 10:30am sermon on Youtube on Monday so you can watch it at a later date.

Now, Looking forward to other matters:

First Things First – Matters of Prayer

In your prayers please remember:
– John in his fight against cancer and the upholding of his beautiful wife Jan.

– Those travelling during these school holidays
– Baden as he leads our Children and youth Ministries
– For the incumbency committee as they seek to discern God’s chosen leader for CCD for the years ahead
– For Rev. Tanya as she leads this Church in the interim
– For the missionaries, we support and for Rite Mentoring.
– For indigenous and non-indigenous relationships – for breakthrough during Naidoc week.
Thank you for your faithful prayers.

Youth and Children’s ministry
At CCD we value Children and Youth! That is the reason why we want to prioritise, equip and empower the disciplining of our children and youth.

This Sunday you will hear a Children’s talk from Robyn Bell. The following week she will run a Children’s school holiday session for the kinder to upper primary aged children. We hope your children can come along and join in the fun.

As term 3 begins, we are looking for an assistant Youth leader to serve alongside Baden. It would be great to have a female leader in the mix! Please pray and discern if God may be calling you to this role!?

Baden is also keen to hear from anyone who wants to help out with life skills/ Youth mentoring. Please direct all your questions to Baden Harvey; Email: Baden@ccd.org.au Phone: 0422216433

Kids Hope
We will be providing training for our volunteer mentors in the next few weeks so please return your application forms by Thursday 8th of July. Any questions? Ask Rev. Tanya.

Our Church Database system is now up and running!
Over the coming weeks, you will receive a link to Elvanto https://ccd.elvanto.com.au/ with a username and asking for a password, and please update the password as this enables you to access the members’ area where you will find:

  • Members directory
  • Rosters
  • Calendar
  • Groups
  • Posts
  • Volunteer information or a chance to sign up
  • You are welcome to add a photo to your profile and update details. (alternatively, we hope someone can take your photo in the coming few weeks and upload it into the database for you).

Name Tags
We are in the process of ordering some professionally made Name tags for our congregation members. When the samples arrive you may choose whether you’d like a magnet-backed name tag or a safety pin. It’s nice to have options! This is an “opt-in” opportunity for new name tags.

If you prefer not to opt-in you will be asked to please wear your old/existing name tags so our new Locum (when he arrives) can learn your names. Thank you for your co-operation.

Baby knitters needed
Please contact Dawn if you can knit baby goods, wool to be provided.

Conclusion
Well, what more can we say… God is the Alpha and Omega, who was and is and is to come (Rev 1:8). He goes before us and behind us and He holds us in his hand in this present moment. He is with us and for us. He has already given us more than we could ever ask or imagine! And he will do even greater things than this!

May you enjoy the abundance of his provision for you in Jesus Christ our Lord.

God has good plans for us all at CCD.

Shalom,

Tanya
