hope in troubled times

Our current preaching series reinforces the mid-week small groups discipleship course we are running called ‘Emotionally Healthy Spirituality’.

Designed by Peter Scazzero of New Life Fellowship Church in New York City the course seeks to grow participants love for God based around two premises:

  1. That spiritual health and emotional health are inseparable, therefore spiritual maturity requires giving attention to one’s emotions – what shapes them and how they are expressed in order to overcome emotional immaturity;
  2. That to nurture an intimate personal relationship with Jesus requires the contemplative practices of silence, stillness and reflection on Scripture as a daily life rhythm.
