This Sunday is our Anniversary Service marking the date of dedication of the Heritage Church in 1873. This was made possible by the generosity and strong faith commitment of Mary Attenborough through the loving mercy of God. We are blessed to have Ron White as our guest preacher and other surprises – a special guest co-host and some rare interviews with two of our longstanding members –one of whom you will be surprised to learn was at the 100th anniversary service! The Scripture passage to preview is Romans 5:6-11.
Straight after the 10.30 service this and each Sunday morning you are invited to fellowship together via the zoom link below. Join in the excitement of actually seeing your brothers and sisters in Christ again and be encouraged!
NATIONAL SOLEMN ASSEMBLY
Today marks the celebration of the Jewish New Year known as Rosh Hashanah. Biblically it is the Feast of Trumpets (See Leviticus 23). This commences a period of ten days leading to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement – the most holy day in the Jewish calendar. This day prefigured and is fulfilled in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, the Messiah, on the cross. The days just prior to this –
Sat 26 / Sun 27 Sept – have been chosen for a
National Day of Solemn Assembly in Australia to pray for our nation to turn to the Lord and for the removal of the Covid virus.
President of the National Council of Churches -Bishop Philip Huggins –has called for this Assembly and invited Ps Peter Walker and Aboriginal Christian Elders to lead this Solemn Assembly, called according to
Joel Chapter Two and 2 Chron 7:14.
This is a historic and profoundly important event for our nation as different national prayer movements unite at this critical time for Australia and the world to cry out to God. Please seriously consider setting aside time for earnest prayer on either or both of these days or joining the gathering on zoom for part of the time. (Details below).

COVID Prayer from Bishop Phil Huggins –
Chairman National Council of Churches
“Gracious God, trusting in your providence and presence,
we bring our prayer for an end to this pandemic.
We pray for your strengthening of those offering costly
leadership during this crisis.
We pray for all who are ill.
We pray for those anxious about getting ill.
We pray for those full of grief.
We remember those who have died.
We pray for your grace to sustain us as we do what we can in
our context.
We ask these things, as you encourage us so to do.
‘Ask and it will be given you.’ (Matthew 7:7).
In resurrection faith, we offer our heartfelt prayer through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.”
